Would love to hear about all of the above.

Do you have to do any trading or do you have traders who do it for you?

Thanks James Bond,
What are the prereqs to start at at a multi-manager as a PM? Also, could you give a general idea about starting pay, aum and progression? also the process of building teams

depends on the strategy, tbh. We had initial capital of ~400mio with 3x leverage available. Most PMs start flat- somewhere around $150k. Team building--depends on the PM. You are on your own to build your team if you are starting fresh. Your best shot would be bringing the guys that you used to work with, however, most of the time this doesn't work due to the non-compete (both for you and the guy that you are trying to onboard from previous work). If this doesn't work, you go through either you friends who know people / head-hunters, etc, but i think most common ways are 1) jumping ship with whole desks or 2) through headhunter.

How hard is team building?

Thanks! How about % of PnL? Also, if dealing with quant strategies, would you know how much of a runway is given in terms of building up the trading systems (i.e., writing code) before you are expected to make money

What headhunters would you recommend (as someone looking to get hired)?
