Question about unpaid internship
Thanks for reading this. I recently accepted an unpaid IB internship at a regional firm which is part time during the year and full time during the summer. I struck out of a ton of firms this summer and decided to just go for the internship since I needed one. I recently got notice that I am going to a superday at a firm I thought dinged me which is really exciting. Say I got the offer should I quit after working only a few weeks part time?
I mean if you get the offer just say you'd rather do the unpaid one till the end of the school year (End of April). Considering they are not paying you, I doubt they'll care that much. Then take May off and work at the other one over the summer.
The offer letter for the unpaid one stipulates that it would be over the summer as well. You think an MD would be open to renegotiating that? I am also working there now
I mean he's not paying you, so you can just quit. But just explain to him that you received a paying internship and that due to recent circumstances you can't afford to work that long without getting paid.
Dude they are not paying you, pls don’t feel any guilt at all. Imagine how cheap a company is to not give a broke intern some money for working. Eff them, just say I got an internship that PAYS so obviously I cannot work for you this summer.
Any implications in burning the bridge? World is a small place or so I’ve heard
