Thanks in advance! I am a rising Junior looking to getting into IB/Consulting for summer before my Senior year. I'm currently revising my resume and would love some outside opinions regarding everything. Although my GPA is very average in terms of applying for top IB/Consulting firms, I do have extensive job experience in many fields that I think set me apart. How do you think I can stack up in terms of Spring Internship recruiting? What should I omit/include in there as well? Anything else? All advice is appreciated, and have a great day.

Not sure if you need those one-two lines explaining what the company does you worked for

Agreed, also I would say USC is a semi-target more than a target school but IB or Consulting are very much possible from USC. Get rid of the descriptions of the companies and add a section discussing leadership positions and achievements you had in the student organizations you were a part of. Recruiters like to see that you made an impact in an organization rather than just joined it. I see that you went to NYU your first year but still spending 4 years at USC, why?

i genuinely don't understand how college students haven't figured out how the internet works yet.... this is basic tech competency.

anyway: regarding critiques 1. your GPA is pretty low. You better start networking now/know upperclassmen who can pull your resume if you want interviews. i know you guys have that banking mentorship program. should get on it. 2. your format in general sucks. shouldn't have colors and that much white space. take a look at the M&I format and base your resume off of that. 3. get rid of all these descriptions of companies. 4. you're not specific enough in any of your bullet points. bankers love numbers/quantification 5. your bullet points aren't results focused at all. they should be, i did ABC, which resulted in XYZ.

Also agree with all of these points, align all of your text to be underneath the Education, Experiences, and Relevant Info sections not to the side, by doing this and deleting the descriptions, you will free up a lot of space to add more information. Completely unrelated note, if that picture is of you I think I faced your team in a mock trial tournament once.

Edit: Also, why on earth would you think that being female is a relevant piece of information on an anonymous online forum. I think you need to #CheckYourPrivilege girl.

As mentioned before, the main thing you need to do is switch to M&I format. Also change the font color to black for the whole thing and add any additional languages if you know any.
