Quit IE business school? To go to HULT?
I'm a International relations student at IE University. I realized that this degree may not be right for me, since I want to work in the business field and I'm not so passionate about politics. I'm not good at math tho so business administration is excluded. I thought about magagement but IE doesn't have this degree. Do you have any advise on some good business schools in which I could study management? What do you think about HULT?? Thanks
Don't go to Hult. It's new and unrecognised (and most of the brand it has built up is through a spamming-type marketing campaign). Now, this opinion is coming from someone who has not stepped a foot inside this institution. For all I know, the teaching could be exceptional. However, the brand value should be important for you so I think the argument I've made is relevant. Your question about studying management is quite vague. There are many good business schools across Europe that teach management, ranging from UK schools - LBS, LSE, Warwick, UCL to Continental European ones - HEC, ESSEC, ESCP, EDHEC, EM Lyon, Mannheim, St. Gallen, Boconni, RSM, Nova, WU, Esade etc. I also think you are over-estimating the maths content in Business Administration (and perhaps Accounting and Finance courses). It won't get ultra-difficult.
it'll be pretty stupid like from going to Harvard to circlejerk U
+1, exactly
Thank you very much!
Thank you very much for your advice! I was thinking about studying management because I really like economy but I'm not good at math. So maybe management (or marketing) is a good compromise. I also like philosophy and humanities in general. I'm studying "introduction to economics" now, I REALLY like it and I think the theory is easy but I already have issues with math. Maybe cause I don't have a good base. At high school I had 7/10 in math. So everybody tell me business is too difficult (especially accounting and finance) for my level of math. Moreover, I know IE is a great uni but I don't feel like studying something I'm not very interested in for 4 years.
I opened an account on the GMAT site giving them permission to send my profile to business schools. Hult emailed me 2 days ago, called me yesterday (via private number), sent me a FedEx package of their Master's program book today, and had scheduled another call with me tomorrow.
It made me wonder why are they so aggressive with their marketing. I mean, it's no secret that the top schools are the one being approached. They have this new master's program where they rotate you across their campuses around the world. Their aggressive marketing made me skeptical
