Do not start at the Boutique if you've accepted an offer to start at another bank in 1-2 months. Everyone is going to be incredibly nice to you for the first month or two at the boutique cause you'll be the new guy. You'll be making things far, far worse if you start knowing that you're going to leave. If you get the offer and want to accept it, renege at the Boutique before you start.

Thanks for the reply. However, I have basically two options if I get the offer.

  1. I can communicate my situation to the BB that I have to renege and see if they are okay with that.

  2. Tell them nothing. The problem with that is that the boutique has an idea of which the bank might be. (because I wasn't smart enough to keep my mouth shut). They know that I will be doing an internship at the bank so if I renege they would know that I've probably been made an offer. Thus, I am worried about them contacting the BB.

Think MM better than Piper Jaffray but nothing like Lazard or Evercore.

And finally, another option that I could think of was working there say til the end of the year and then move to the BB in Jan. No too short nor too long but in the end nothing can blame me for that or blacklist me or anything. Actually, there's a three month probation period and there's a week notice during this prob. period for both sides. Any views on that ?

2x2 guy ur playin a shady game being there 1 month before quitting is worse than simply reneging and not wasting their time.

========================================= We are excited to formally extend to you an offer to join Bank of Ameria
