My thoughts are that the title is clickbait. A solid half (maybe more) of those schools aren't either: (1) on the east coast or (2) elite, so the title is a bit of a stretch. But of course that doesn't account for the fact that certain elite, east coast schools have disproportionate weight. Whatever, statistics schmatistics.
It's pretty much always been that way. If you wanted to be in IB you went to one of those schools (although that list is kinda week with regard to where most come from). Kids from the west coast in 1960 also went to Ivy League schools if they wanted to land at an investment firm in NYC.
Is that article accurate? If so, Indiana University is now the number 2 public school for banking...and it's only 4 placements away from topping Harvard. I know they've taken some huge steps recently, but that's still a surprise to me. (I'm from Indiana - went to college out East.)
That's because Harvard kids have better options than banking
