Random HR question
Disclaimer: this is a hypothetical question
What happens if I someone sends a resume to a company's HR department with a note saying, "Are there any positions that I would be a good fit for?"
THE OBVIOUS ANSWER IS NO, but I'm curious what would happen.
.
No I wouldn't do that. I would try to be creative. You should first try to find contact information of the people actually working as researchers and ask them simple questions about their work and how it would be possible for someone to make a transition to that group. I've been contacting people constantly (cold-emailing). A lot of people don't respond but some do and answer my questions genuinely.
You have to think outside the box. Good luck.
They ding you past the BO pile and straight to the shred-pile for ending a sentence with a preposition.
SF is kidding, the people in HR don't actually know what a preposition is (of course, neither does the FO either... shhhh)
