random rant

I feel like there is a market for creative geniuses in high finance. I don't mean the highly analytical finance type. I mean the waiter putting that art degree to no use. Jesus, I've looked at over 200 PE/VC websites today and the majority have some stupid name that they then define on their website, and chances are it's a term from a race or ethnic group that is now or once was near extinction, and then they blast pictures of sailboats all over their website. Seriously, I wish I had kept stats of how many fucking pictures of sailboats are used on websites.

I know these don't matter in the grand scheme of things, but it feels so cookie-cutter and it's almost becoming a forethought when greeting someone in person (i.e., "I bet your firm has a fucking sailboat on its homepage").

End of rant.
