RE guys...What is your vacation policy?
Curious what other people in the industry are getting. I'm only allowed 10 days per year which seems light relative to other people i know. Considering asking for more if most others are getting a better policy.
16 days.
I have no idea honestly; as long as I'm not obnoxious about it and get my shit done no one cares or counts days.
Same. No one asks twice when I say I'm taking a friday off for a trip. Taken probably 6 fridays off since May...
Mine is the same way
Same.
Our policy is get your shit done and make sure you hand your shit off properly before you leave. No one counts days, but everyone also knows the guy that takes the most time off so just try to not be THAT guy.
I get 18 official "PTO" days and a few "sick" days. My old, less corporate, firm had a much more flexible policy. Like others have said, get your work done and no one cares.
North Korean laborers in Siberian labor camps get more days off than the OP
15 + 4 personal + 8 holidays + unlimited sick time.
The real question here should have been, "How much passive aggressive crap do you have to endure any time you use the vacation days you have?" or "How often do you intentionally book vacations where you know you'll have shit cell reception and/or no e-mail access just to make sure you get actual time off?"
Pretty much the same as what others have posted here. Started at 10 days (analyst) plus holidays and unlimited (apparently) sick days. Now at 15 days plus the same sick days and holidays. No one keeps track though so if you go over a few days or even a week throughout the year no one is likely to notice, so long as you're not taking 3-4 weeks at one time.
10 days but nobody keeps track. That was one of the first things I asked when I started ,”how many PTO days?” “Well there’s no handbook and no policy but 10 days PTO. Keep track and don’t abuse it.” LOL
15 PTO, 3 personal days, 12 holidays plus the ability to work remote. Institutional RE isn't a bad place to be.
is institutional RE like working for Barnes and Nobles real estate team? Or like Walmart real estate team?
No, I work at a life insurance company in lending.
I have about 20 PTO pays per year and can roll over a quarter of those to the next year.
Unlimited PTO. Just have to let your manager know.
Use it or Lose it.
"Unlimited" is the policy. But you know what that means....
