reaching out to ex interviewee?
(I'm going to be vague on a couple of things here)
A couple of years ago, i bombed an (my very first) interview for an internship. It hit me pretty hard and I remember it vividly. Long story short, I got the interview because of my father, who had decided to help me out as i was in a pickle.
I found out 1 day in advance that there is an interview and that it was new boutique, set up by a top banker in the country and what they do. Naturally, I got extremely nervous. To make matters worse his partner was the alumni of the course i had just dropped out from. The impression i ended up giving the impression that i was a complete noob. So bad, that he ended up asking me "IF" i knew about the financial crisis and i ended up saying no ( when i had just finished reading when music stopped and was reading fault lines, i think). Yeap, i was that nervous.
Since then, ive come a long way. I got my shit together, i graduated, am a CPA (the interviewee is also a CPA) and am currently doing MBA from a top (asian) school. Should I reach out to him? If yes, then should i mention that incident?
And yes, i am very interested what they do
bump
do you mean "interviewer"?
I was thinking the same thing...this is a pretty basic thing.
*facepalm, yes it is. Apologies.
Why remind him? Likely he's told a few people, moved on and only has a vague memory of the whole thing.
By contacting him, all you'll do is reinvigorate the memory with a new twist, invigorating the story so that it can now be told as an anecdote to more diverse conversation partners.
