Real estate question!

Hi all,

I’m looking for a place to rent in Sydney and have just had two applications approved. I’m relatively new to the city and was wondering if anyone could shed some light on the two locations.

One is a property in Stanmore but the building and apartment itself is slightly old. It’s still a great apt with ample street parking it seems.

The other is in Rockdale, a few minutes from the station. This comes with a Carpark and the building is very new and apartment is large. I’ve heard mixed reviews about Rockdale though so wasn’t sure if a bigger apartment was worth it.

Rent is about the same, $10 difference with Stanmore being more expensive.

Any info would be much appreciated!

Thanks!

Stanmore is a better more upmarket location due to its walking distance to upmarket amenities such as restaurants clubs etc and closer to the CBD and the Harbour. On-street parking in Stanmore is tight and not as easy as it might seem at times.

Rockdale has a hub railway station and is easier to access beaches, Botany Bay, and the south coast but is not seen as upmarket. Lockdown is obviously affecting both suburbs.
