Real Estate Tax Consultant (save me)

I have been working as a RE Tax consultant at a Big four firm for a little of a year and a half and I am thinking about making a move. I have my CPA and a Masters in ACCT from a respectable school. My experiences include REIT/Partnership compliance, REIT testing, REIT acquisition due diligence, some PE structuring deals, etc. I really enjoy the consulting work, but the compliance is awful. I also consistently work 60 hours weeks (70-80's in busy season) with GARBAGE compensation.

As of right now I have two options, I can either work for 3 more year, make manager, and then leave for a smaller firm or private industry. Or I can just hang up the towel and try to do something else real estate related. I am really interested in getting into the acquisitions/valuation side of the business. Can anyone recommend positions that could help me make this move with my background? I am planning on taking some of the REFM certification course over the winter. Is there anything else you would recommend to help me seem attractive to this side of the industry?
