Realistic dream car

Wondering what yalls realistic dream car is and what do you drive now? Plan on driving in the future?

I'm currently driving a '13 scion FR-S. Nothing special, but has pretty good gas mileage and is fun enough to drive until I can level up. Realistic dream car and what I plan on driving in the future (when I graduate and get a job, hopefully well paying enough) would be a C63 507 edition.

I mean I really do think it's realistic for me to get something way sweeter and more exotic than this, but right now I'm sure loving the idea of getting an M2...

I'd look into a 17-18' Mercedes C63. I prefer MB over BMW every day but I drove an '18 C63s a while back and it was pretty damn great. If you're looking for way sweeter and exotic though, I'd look at the MB GT-R.

Providing I don't have kids, Aston Martin Vantage

Idk what you make but you can get a used Aston Martin with moderate mileage for a very reasonable price

I am actually looking for one right now.

  • E46 M3 CSL (purchase and hold overseas until they are legally importable in 2030-2031)
  • S85 V10-swapped E46 M3
  • E30 M3
  • E34 M5
  • 6-Speed GT3 RS
  • Refreshed ‘69 Camaro with an LS3, fat lopey cam and big single turbo
  • Refreshed ‘63 Continental

I like your style. SB

I could never choose one, so my garage would have to be:

  • e30 m3 with a s54 swap for a track car
  • BMW M2 for the daily driver
  • 1973 Porsche 911 RSR. I can't afford a real one, so I would build a replica. Would be used as a canyon cruiser/show car.
  • e36 m3 with an LS swap and widebody for a drift car
  • Jeep wrangler LJ. Would be used as my offroad rig

Everyone's realistic dream car is all relative, but my dream car when I was in high school was a M3. Glad I was able to have one for a bit, but also looking forward to not having to worry about it (worrying about dings, putting miles on the car, reckless drivers, random people pulling up to rev their engine next to mine, etc.). I'm looking forward to a less high-maintenance car next.

Kassad:
A 599. If I fuck up along the way, C63 AMG. If I really settle, the latest M5.

The C63 AMG is a nice car. It is probably the most understated looking car in its category, for being able to pull a 3.8sec 0 - 60.

I like it that it is so clean and powerful. For years, I thought the C class was too small, especially the coupes, but last year rode in a new C class and it seemed spacious enough. The seats seemed to be these kind of bucket seats that went down a bit so there was ample headroom if you pushed the down arrow on the side controls (I'm 6'0).

Some of the colors make this car look like a normal small Mercedes, which most people would think it was if they weren't familiar with the AMG badges (any non-car person).

I don't typically go for a matte paint job, but I think the lines look great on this car in matte grey or matte black.

Is that the non-s? I would have gone with the s if I were to get that car but looks like you have all of the nice packages to go along with it. And I love the matte paint, looks so damn good in person. Beautiful car. I'm looking to get a w204 c63 507 edition in the next year or so. Something like this:

I'm a big fan of the Lotus Evora 400. Its unique and I have heard its really fun to drive. I haven't driven that model, but after I first drove a Lotus in 2006 (Elise), I was hooked on the brand. That thing drove like a go kart. It was so fun. But the interior of that car was greatly lacking for years. It was really small too. The Evora remedies a lot of things the Elise was lacking in my opinion.

ELISE.  You know it's better, A S2000 is a weaponized miata, but an Elise is the gatekeeper between regular cars that seem fast and cars that ARE fast.

The only difference between Asset Management and Investment Research is assets. I generally see somebody I know on TV on Bloomberg/CNBC etc. once or twice a week. This sounds cool, until I remind myself that I see somebody I know on ESPN five days a week.

Yeah I’ve driven an Elise and thought it was a blast to drive. The interior of the car is very simple and looks like a race car or go kart. It drives like a go kart though. The skid pad is 1.03g, which means you can take corners like a mofo.

It gets crushed by many other cars in a 0-60 straight shot, but many other cars like the GT-R just are too fast for the road to go fast without getting a ticket that will send you to jail, so when driving on the street, just killing it on the corners is going to be the most fun with an Elise.

I’d rather have an Evora though - I haven’t driven one, but almost bought one a couple years ago.

We have a Volvo S60 and a Kia Forte. I drive the Kia mostly. The Volvo has way too many features and makes me feel stupid. I get in and try to turn on the A/C and it blows all over the place and everything is digital and I just want to be driving already. It has nice safety features though. I can barely even figure out bluetooth. I just listen to podcasts through my phone's speaker or use an aux cable sometimes. And I drive through alleys to construction sites and park in the middle of streets with blinkers on and shit like that all the time, so this is a good beater car.

Cars I like and think are cool and would consider owning depending on where I'm living: -Volvo XC90 -a Jeep with bigass tires and a hitch and crazy suspension and shit. With doors though. That no doors shit is retarded -BMW Z8. But probably an M4 for kid shit -G-Wagon although they're objectively pretty bad cars -Any number of retrofitted classic muscle cars. I kind of like the I-Roc but I'd drive a '69 Mustang like every other midlife crisis fuck. Definitely retrofitted to the tits though. Not trying to ride around on bike tires and drum brakes. -I want an F-250 for work shit and hunting -I'd get a Lamborghini Countach for shits and giggles and paint it glittery purple or some shit -Maybe a classic retrofitted Jagur F-type. I like Jags a lot -A safari'd-out Land Cruiser -a medium RV -Bentley Continental Supersport is cool -Nissan Skyline R-34 to make childhood Goldie happy -Might consider an SLR if they didn't make me immediately think of erectile dysfunction -Dodge Viper cause fuck you -Hummer H-1 bulletproofed, flood lights, hitch, lifted, etc. -Might consider getting a bike again - a Ducati or Triumph. I'd have to be in a super isolated place with awesome roads and great weather. Fullest of gear. Still probably never again though. I'd fuck around with some 4x4s and snowmobiles though -Dune buggy -Nissan GTR maybe, although I'd for sure get frustrated with the technology and end up punching the screen -I like custom stealth wealth / sleeper cars. So some shit that just looks like a regular ass SUV with tinted windows, but all the mechanicals and interior are top-end or custom with additional safety features

I like sleeper cars as well. I remember you posting something about a $150K Volvo SUV that you liked, but I found the ultimate sleeper SUV for you.

The 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk. It looks pretty much like a normal Jeep. You could take off the badges if you really wanted to go sleeper (rims might stand out).

0-60 in 3.5seconds. 707hp. What what.

Honestly, look at how normal that looks. Just like a regular Jeep.... such a sleeper...... sneaky sneaky

That's really fucking cool. Think it would be dangerous to put offroad tires on it and lift it a bit? Dude imagine getting 4X4 wheelspin in a fucking Jeep like one of those 2,000 BHP custome lambos

Technically every car is realistic for me; I don't believe of being limited in choices. Currently I drive a Porsche Macan GTS, but before that a C63 (W222? Whatever the 2018 model was) that I kept freaking scraping on this massive meteor impact crater looking thing at my school so I got the GTS instead and never looked back. With that being said, I am now hooked on SUVs for some odd reason and looking to get a Mansory Bentayga as a daily some time in the future. Maybe the RR Cullinan instead. I got invited to the unveiling here in LA on July 12th if anybody here is going to be there hit me up.

Edit: I see my thoughts has received some negative hate... what a sad and soft world!

Seriously, why post a statement like that? Some of us can afford those cars now, not in ten years or so.

I like GT2s, but they're less of a purist car than a GT3, and carry a hefty price premium over the GT3 as well (less of a realistic dream car, IMO).

As some people above I'm into simple lightweight sports cars. In the near future I would like to get an S2000:

And then as the absolute best I would say the Lotus Exige

I own a s2000 since 2006, still get offers to sell but I love driving this till this day.

The 2020 Tesla Roadster, and at $200k it's not completely out of dream car territory. An 8.9 second 1/4 mile time for a production vehicle is insane. And still can't tell if he's serious, but there might be a SpaceX thruster package option: https://www.gearbrain.com/musk-tesla-roadster-rocket-thrusters-25770875…

A bit more realistically, the Grand Cherokee Trackhawk also gets my vote. With a pulley change and tuning to up the boost you can get another 100hp out of that motor.

Probably an unpopular opinion but here it comes.

I was shopping around for a lease after I got my signing bonus for my first job out of college, and I really liked the bi-color range rover evoque. So I went to the dealership, dive the test drive, called the insurance company and was about to pull the trigger... then last minute I decided to call my dad for advice and he said "You want to stay motivated and have stuff to look forward to in life".

Long story short, I went for a mazda 3 hatchback instead. Nothing fancy whatsoever but a decent car to start at 22 y old and I am really looking forward to kill it at work so that in 3 years when the lease come due I can go and get something nicer...

Ya know, to your point, I've had a pretty sick luxury car for 4 years now, and now I'm kind of over it. It's like, "Welp, what's the next cool thing I can buy that the typical middle class person can't?"

Problem with Ferrari is that you have to own a bunch of "cheaper" ones to get the upper models.

Yeah I’ve heard it is a pain. Jay Leno doesn’t own any Ferraris.
