Really Low Undergrad GPA- MBA Associate Question
Went to a top 30 undergrad but only had a 3.39 gpa. I want to break into IB through a top MBA as an associate. If I can somehow manage to get into a top MBA (710 GMAT, applying this fall), will banks still ask for undergrad gpa? If I get top grades in the MBA program will it almost not even matter since recruiting happens so fast and banks won't see grades? Is it kind of pointless to get an MBA if you will just be disregarded for low undergrad gpa?
Would it be worth it to complete a one year MSF prior to an MBA just to get good grades on my resume?
Don't worry about this at all. Some banks will ask, but I can assure you it does not move the needle.
A 3.4 from a top 30 school isn't too out of place at top 15/20 MBA programs. A 710 is in the mix too, so a combo of your GMAT + MBA program (and potential MBA grades) will override your undergrad GPA for the few banks that even bother to ask.
Won't banks not see my MBA grades because recruiting will happen before first semester grades are released?
That isn't the case at several schools, but most MBA business schools">M7 schools have grade non-disclosure at this point and even T15.
A 3.39 GPA isn’t going to move the needle for any bank on the street. Now stop spamming WSO with the same question.
