Recent Graduate Searching For ER opportunities during Off-Cycle
I recently graduated from a target/semi-target, and am now recruiting for sell-side ER positions during off-cycle recruiting. I spent most of my senior year overloading classes and writing a thesis, so I only interviewed seriously with one AM company during the school year. Since there are so few ER positions, to begin with, and they tend to be filled up by the junior intern classes, few of the people I've spoken with at BB's/In-between/MM banks have been looking to hire for non-specialty coverage areas (non-biotech/pharmaceuticals/etc.). I'm aware that a lot of these off-cycle positions are filled through employee referrals, so how should I go about getting in touch with the right people?
Where I have been interviewing, I've gotten a lot of traction since I'm very passionate about investing and markets; I need to cast a wider net at this time though because at the end of the day it's all about fitting in with a team, and it's hard for interviewers to know who will work out without a 3-month long audition. Any and all suggestions/help will be gladly appreciated!
