Recruiting Other Banks (NYC) FT During Internship (LA) - a gamble?

Currently a junior planning to graduate in Fall 2020. I accepted an M&A summer analyst offer at a MM bank in Los Angeles last spring. For a number of reasons I took the offer (aside from good bank and M&A role). However, I want move from LA to NYC after college. Does anyone have experience with recruiting for FT during their summer internship. Yes--I know: concentrate on getting a return, it could damage my performance, etc.

But has anyone made this move? Is moving to NYC easier because the FT analyst classes are bigger, and would they pull from LA?
