Recruiting Question: How do Companies Choose Who to Interview at MBA Programs?
So I've been told by current/recent MBA students that recruiting starts basically from the get-go when you arrive on campus. But since you don't have any kind of GPA ( and I know some schools have you interview "blind") how do MBB/BBs etc recruit? Do they just pick people with high GMATs, prior IB experience....Etc. Thanks! Bit confused on this.
From the banking side: Resume (somewhat including GMAT, but it is more of an upside vs a downside) and our interactions with you during the recruiting process. The latter is the most important part, it's all about your ability to network during the process. But your background and story are a significant part of that.
Good to hear - I'd imagine it's about how you spin yourself, etc. I'd be doing an MBA to break into IB, so I was worried about competing for Associate slots with kids who already had IB experience.
90% of people who recruit banking don't have prior banking experience.
Just curious, what would be considered a good score if you are not attending a MBA business schools">M7 school. I got a 720 and I was not sure if I should retake and shoot for a higher score before school starts. Thanks.
Figures, appreciate the counsel.
