Recruitment Events: What would you do?

Hello people of the Wall Street Oasis, I just wanted some advice from practical point of view.

Some background info: 23yr old from semi-target (Asia/pacific) postgrad business student. Decent extracurriculars and okay grades. No relevant internship experience.

So here it goes, recently I received a rejection letter for the IB internship at BB after completing my online- assessment. But then I received another email for a closed, invitation-only recruitment event at the same firm for the same role. I believe the HR who sent the email for recruitment even must've not realized I failed the online test.

The question is, should I go to that recruitment event?

Pros: I have a decent connection there and I really like the company. I could meet more people and expand my network within that particular firm

Cons: Other IB internship/analyst recruitment events are also happening at the same time, I will be missing out on those opportunities (but it's unlikely that I will get it).

What would you guys do?

Go.

But, if you failed some vital test for the role, you could be shooting yourself in the foot, or you might have to bridge the gap and learn the skills if you get hired.
