Reddit - are you serious?

Just got legal notice (attached) that we can't use the term "AMA" and that it's trademarked by Reddit. I don't know whether to be honored that they even bothered or annoyed. I think I'm both.

So I guess we should go with AMA from now on?

Regardless, great timing guys. Also, that's a super old address...

Congrats, Patrick! You know you made it when a once dead website comes at you to fun suck!

"AMAnything" "AME" Ask me everything "AMW" ask me whatever

Should double check who has rights to "Q&A"... don't want to get a cease and desist from MySpace ;)

I’m not savvy enough to write it for you (yet) but I bet you can have an autocorrect feature that detects “AMA” being typed into the topic title and correct it to AMAnything. I’m guessing you use Javascript here so there’s the .replace() keyword but I’m not sure how to implement it into a text box.

Can you tell me how Bernie can STILL WIN the election???

I’m a fun guy. Obviously I love the game of basketball. I mean there’s more questions you have to ask me in order for me to tell you about myself. I'm not just gonna give you a whole spill... I mean, I don't even know where you're sitting at

What damages are they threatening?

Doubt they pursue legal action, its just a scary letter. No one is wasting resources going to court.

You should post on r/all, Reddit is a bunch of fucktards nowadays anyway.

Why waste resources (time or money) potentially defending the site? Not worth a minute of your valuable brain space. Another abbreviation will suffice.

I know the guys here will go neanderthal and say "dude, eff them, etc.," but they don't pay the bills.

Shows you the far reach and power of WSO - be proud. They feel threatened.
