Referral from EB Partner

Hey everyone, I have a quick question. I just found out a family friend is a partner at an EB CVP/GUGG/PJT/PWP and before I reach out, I was wondering how much a referral from a partner could help in the future? Just for context, I'm a rising sophomore at a semi-target with 3.9+ gpa. Thanks!

Probably won't help at all. Referrals don't really do anything, especially from higher-ups like partners

Yea, OP tell your family friend to try to get promoted to analyst before next spring so he can help you out

Lol that'll probably almost guarantee you a first round and maybe even a super day depending on how well you know them and how much they're pulling for you (considering they're a family friend, I'd imagine they'd help you out more than a regular candidate). It also depends on the firm's recruiting process. PWP is done so probably can't help there. But CVP, Gugg, and PJT still have slots open so you should utilize the partner towards your advantage. Although what I said above sounds pretty good, nothing is guaranteed. You still gotta do very well in the interviews and nail every fit/technical question asked.

Why do kids here talk out of their ass as if they actually knew something? Also, did you even read the OP or comment you replied to?

Quia quaerat numquam soluta. Officiis temporibus exercitationem qui qui necessitatibus aut eum consequuntur. Et cum earum labore dicta.
