REIT - back office?
I was wondering if anyone could help me out in determining if this position with a mortgage reit is a traditional "back office" position. the role, from what I can tell from the description, will center around analyzing and evaluating organizations who sell the underwritten and originated mortgages to the reit. the analysis will be quantitative and qualitative, but I believe the companies will be organizations like banks or mortgage specific companies. obviously sort of a niche industry and market, and i dont believe i will have much exposure to the investor-facing side of it or the MBS trading desk at the firm. does anyone have any idea about the potential for this role? would it be good background for a potential move to a FIG group or something like that, or a trading desk or commercial real estate position? any other insights would be appreciated, and i can try to clarify things more if im not being clear in the description.
Thanks in advance
Any ideas?

It would be more helpful if you posted the job description itself.
