Reneging for lower tier BB
Wondering if this makes any sense. Accepted an offer from a MM group within a larger platform (think BAML EGRC, Lazard MM, Gugg MM, GS cross markets). Is it worth reneging for DB/UBS?

For DB or UBS, probably not. Honestly tho, the repercussions of reneging are exaggerated on this forum.

MM offer is another major city (SF, Chi, LA)

I would say definitely not, although there’s a big discrepancy between GS cross markets and Gugg and Laz MM for example.
brand name is super important (more important if your offer is GS or BofA) and you always have a strong shot to lateral internally. People lateral all the time from ECM, DCM, S&T but you have a huge advantage over them because you’ll actually have an IB modeling skill set since you’re in a classic IB group.
