Replying to Rejection Email

Curious if/how people reply to rejection emails if they come from the person you have interviewed with. I recently went through a few rounds of interviews with two different acquisition/development firms and both reached out to let me know they will be moving on with other candidates. Of course, this is better than being completely ghosted so I appreciated them letting me know.

I'm a little over 2 years into a V&A role in a major market and having trouble moving to a new role with a new firm (ideally MF acquisitions or development). So I decided to respond to both rejection emails basically asking if they could provide me with any reasoning as to how they made their decision hoping to potentially learn my mistakes or weaknesses to better myself for next time. Needless to say I have not heard back. Anyone try anything like this in the past or recently overcome a similar plateau feeling they could provide some insight on?

Sorry to hear you missed out on the job.

I am currently a student so I am not sure how helpful my reply actually is. Whenever I got a rejection email I asked for any feedback on what I can improve on. Tbh I heard back from them in 8/10 cases with 4/10 actually givung me a call. However, in these scenarios I mostly advanced to AC, the companies where not Tier1 (think MM, bottom EB), I am still a student and I live in Germany - so maybe this is the reason why I have had such a good experience.
