Request New Geography (West Coast v. East Coast Office) Before Start Date

I recruited on cycle in the fall (Summer 2020 start date) and accepted an offer based in NYC. The firm/group I will be joining also has an office on the west coast.

Any advice on how to bring up the topic of starting at the West Coast office even though I recruited for NYC? Would you recommend that I reach out to someone I interviewed with or directly to HR?

Long story short is my GF of 3 years is from the west coast and I'd rather start out there if I know I will eventually move out there. Appreciate any advice. Thanks.
