Research Paper on Finance High School

Hello you all, at the moment I’m attending grade 11 of a high school in Germany. As customary in this country one exam in one subject is replaced by a twelve-page research paper. I will write mine in Economics and looking for good topics. My teacher rejected about 15 proposals for being too freaky. For example, the impact of CDOs on the financial crisis or how Trump‘s tweets are influencing the markets. Maybe you can help, what would be a good topic for a research paper in Economics on grade 11 level?

Corona Virus and its impact on the manufacturing industry/airline industry (I can tell you there are some big problems going on for Q1) Maybe look into Hitatchi/Komatsu/CAT/John Deere/Ford. A big part here is the steel and plastic parts coming from China having a delay causing a low supply of goods. The opportunity cost of attending college vs going straight to work (this one is good and applicable) Not sure if attending a US college but still a good one. Opportunity cost of doing an extra hour of homework vs enjoying free time Economic impact of Brexit on the world economy/euro pricing You could always predict stock movement for any of the F500 companies based on some international disaster/trend and make a stock pitch or something along those lines

How to look for opportunity in the market in odd places. For instance HD when there is a hurricane. I bought LVS once the virus made it sell off very hard because travel was down, I also booked a trip to Vegas that week with the extra money from that trade to take me and my friends. Or gun stocks going up after mass shootings because people know the left will use it to fight for gun control.

I have a funny story about an index reconstitution, a trump tweet and our stock price that has made my life miserable for the last five months. (No, I don't work for Meredith or Tanger) PM sent. Some of my suggestions may be too esoteric, and I can't share our active projects, but there's some fun here.

The only difference between Asset Management and Investment Research is assets. I generally see somebody I know on TV on Bloomberg/CNBC etc. once or twice a week. This sounds cool, until I remind myself that I see somebody I know on ESPN five days a week.
