Research vs. Night trader?
Hi
I'm a HK fresh graduate and just landed in a local L/S equity hedge fund as a research associate in cyclical sectors (i.e. commodities, auto, property). Yesterday I just learned our firm was hiring a night shift trader to cover US hours and our PM would like to give me one chance - if I fully understand what I'll do and could commit at least 1-2 years and he could train me from ground.
I actually think both sides are quite important, especially for commodities stocks. The problem is, I haven't found my personal investment style but now it seems too long for trading and too short for fundamentals...
Any one had experience as a night trade in HF? Any views on these two paths?
Thanks!
So you're basically just the same as a trader in the US except its dark outside? Sounds kind of dope.
