Restructuring Analyst Description

Hi Everyone,

I am thinking of moving into restructuring because I am interested in distressed asset/debt. I was just wondering what an RX analyst does vs a standard IB analyst working on M&A/IPOs

In particular:

-Valuation work (Do RX groups work on DCFs, LBOs, M&A modelling, Takeunder transaction modelling etc...?

-Modelling (What type of modelling do RX groups typically do, and does this modelling apply to standard PE buyouts if you realize you do not want to follow the distressed route?)

-DD Process

-Transactions (Do RX groups work on M&A deals etc...? )

Thanks a lot, please also add any other information I may have forgotten to ask, I am trying to learn more about this specific group.
