Resume Critique for Senior Who Really Wants to Break Into Real Estate?

I'm finishing up my summer internship and I need to start preparing myself for fall internships at any RE firms. Can you guys critique my resume and be brutally honest on what I would need to improve on ?

Also, any recommendations for companies that I should be aiming for or are within my reach would be greatly appreciated.

Resume review is a paid service here, so I don't like getting too into details and take away from that service, but overall it's a solid resume. Some random thoughts:

  • If your major GPA is only a 3.3/4.0, I'm assuming your overall GPA is even worse, hence why you put your major GPA. No judgment here - my overall is probably worse than yours even - but don't broadcast that info on the first line. I would take it off for all jobs except those which explicitly require it...with the understanding that if they care that much about GPA you're probably out of the running.

  • I like the overall Education | Projects | Work Experience layout you have, but the problem with it is that your REIT Agency Lender line gets buried. 50%-75% of people won't even read that far unless something above catches their eye. I took Econometrics too - I know how hard it is and how much work goes into it - but what's going to get you a job in real estate is your real estate experience. You need to bump that up, whether you move projects to the bottom and put work experience right under education, or include projects in your education line to beef it up, or something. That line right there is going to get you hired. No one cared about my competition wins at all (which is eternally frustrating but there you have it) but they cared a lot about my past experience.

  • I always like an interest section that paints a picture more than one that's a list. You wrote "Traveling, hiking, basketball, investing, and environmental conservation." That's going to have a lot more impact if you list where you travel (be careful with this though. don't sound like a tool.), list your favorite hiking place, say you won the local rec league in basketball, say what kind of investing you do (better be good at this to list it), or say what positive impact you had on the environment. "Surfing off the Gold Coast of Australia, Hiking the Precipice Trail, Winning the Fall 2017 YMCA Rec Basketball Championship, Practicing Value Investing, and Leading a Project to Implement Expanded Recycling in my Apartment Building" makes you an infinity more colorful person than "Traveling, hiking, basketball, investing, and environmental conservation."

CRE! Thanks a lot for your input and general contribution to this forum, I've read up on so many threads where you're constantly providing informative feedback which allowed me to learn about the industry . The reason why I took off my overall gpa was because a lot of people were telling me overall gpa is meaningless (its above a 3.0 but below my major gpa). Did not know resume review was a paid service on wso, and do apologize for seeming like a leech. Took your suggestions and made changes to my resume, going to start applying once my internship ends.

Cheers!
