Resume: Equity Research in NYC from non-target. Critique this bad boy!
This is what I'm working with so don't tell me I need a higher GPA or a Goldman internship. Help me re-word or add to my experience, coursework etc. Again, I need to make this appealing for an ER position. Also, how do I most appropriately add CFA Level 1 Candidate on my resume? Love you all!

NOTE: The above link depicts my edited resume after incorporating the advice received in this thread....
.
is your major gpa higher? put that
Yes, I believe my Econ GPA is higher. I will put that in. Thanks for catching that!
Can anyone else comment on my "Cashier" experience. Is that too weak to justify having it on my resume?
Can anyone adjust some of my wording?
No dude just take it out.
Take off the GPA - for your school it better be 3.8 or above to a make a difference
please take out cashier. you are not applying to be a bank teller.
combine the two boeings in one section.
Allright here's one for fucking Karma. You need to tailor your Resume to an actual ER position. The best way is to grab a random posting that's online right now, and hack @ your resume to make it sound like you are doing ER work, even though you are clearly not.
I am going to hand you 2 on a silver goddamn platter. JPM and MS. I even picked out Aerospace for you, to see if you can leverage that. Yes these are for Associate but don't worry about that.
Go and retool your resume to fit these postings and then come back and post and we will re-critique.

Durban,
Wow, you've really opened my eyes to a couple of different things:
I didn't realize that I have some of the skills and experience listed in the ER job descriptions that you posted. Allow me 24 hours or so to make some improvements. I would love to have you take a look at my edited resume.
Thanks!

Question:
Should I list "CFA Candidate Level 1" if I'm not registered with the CFA Institute/Exam? I've been studying but I haven't had the money to register for the December exam yet.
That's a breach of the CFA Code of Conduct
it's largely irrelevant. everyone is a candidate for level 1 right? pass level 1....then list it. what did you do summer 2010? Why ER in NYC (why not something regional on the west coast)? I'd do an extensive search on this site, will be very helpful for adjusting your targets/goals...
Unfortunately, Summer 2010 was a bust. I was studying for the GMAT and applying to grad schools all summer. I was accepted into a Master's in Finance program, paid my deposit, and was all ready to go before family and financial issues closed the door on attending the program.
I have several alumni connections and family members that work in the financial sector in NYC.
That answers my question. Thank you Unforseen!
Add some more non finance related interests. You sound like a one dimensional person.
I say this over and over: QUANTIFY YOUR EXPERIENCE!!!!!!!
mkballer,
Can you be more specific?
Thanks for your input.
