I am hoping to apply for Investment Banking Associate level roles this summer for Fall 2019 entry, both Bulge-Bracket and Boutiques.

- I'm shooting for Associate is because I've been told that I'm too senior for an analyst role and that the banks won't even look at me for an analyst program. Do you agree? (see my profile below)
I'm already networking pretty hard, reaching out to every single alum I could find and also non-alums who I could see a some sort of connection with.
Any tips or strategies..? (other than just networking)

- I don't have prior professional experience in finance, but data science/analytics and engineering + startup
- I’m Canadian but have family in US, and looking for roles primarily in NY, but also in Texas, Chicago or west coast area.
- I don't need company sponsorship for work visa in US.
