Resume Question - Recently declared my major
I recently declared my major and was selected into an honors track in the department. Also my major requires admission into the program (i.e. not everyone can just enter into the major just because they go to the school). I think this is somewhat common (I think Michigan has some business programs like that...I think some majors at Berkeley are like that too? maybe not?) so my question is do I mention on my resume that the program I'm in is selective (and what might be a way of wording that...like one of 12 students in the department selected or something like that?) Thanks in advance for hopefully some great responses from people who have been in this position (or have reviewed resumes)
i am a big fan of professional, simple resumes so i would advise against this, but it doesn't seem that bad to include
Most first-round interviewers are familiar with those kind of details. For instance, not everyone can just enroll as an undergraduate at Haas (Berkeley). You have to apply and get in.
For Anderson (UCLA) too, you have to maintain a GPA and have a pretty good test score to be in the Business Economics program.
For those that don't know (for UCLA)
Business Economics = Economics + Accounting

I would advise against that as well. For example, I've ended up leaving out the fact that I graduated 6th out of 600+ people in high school because I don't want HS material on my resume anymore.
