Retail Trading?
I am currently a rising sophomore applying for sophomore summer analysts positions for next summer. I am diversity and disability at non target, but I do not have financial work experience . I was wondering If i could mention the retail trading that I do on my cover letter (along my economics coursework) as an example of interest I have shown in the financial market.
The reason for my lack of financial work experience is that I was interested in healthcare till I entered university, and I have a boat load of work experience and internships at hospitals etc. I wanted to mention this to show that I know how to work as a team/stay organized/ work hard etc, and was wondering if that was okay.
You can mention you are interested in financial markets (be prepared to explain that though if they pick up on it), and that you are actively trading. But I don't think that personal investments carry a lot of weight for an application (unless you are a verifiable star trader with high returns).
