I took the GMAT right after graduating in 2011, and I thought I would be fine (740 total, 48 math, 44 verbal), but it looks like my quant percentile is getting lower as they update the percentile rankings.
Not sure what to do--worth retaking? I'm just worried I won't get much higher than 48. I majored in econ and did a quantitative senior thesis, but I'm not sure if that's enough.
Any thoughts?

For an MBA, you should be fine (assuming your GPA, work exp., and reco's are top notch). If you're going for an MFE, Mfin, etc. you might want to retake. 740 is a fine score. Congrats.
im in the same boat, my 80%Q (48 as well) has sunk to 78%Q. Im not planning on retaking though. at least the verbal scores are moving up...
Is there any possibility the percentiles could revert back? Or is this a downward trend?
Same boat with a 48Q. I'm assuming it'll be a downward trend. 750 will be the new 700, etc.

Don't retake the exam. Admissions knows that percentiles move around. It's not a big deal.

yes, but the quant percentile is borderline 80% (moving down each time they update it).
I know for a fact that wharton and sloan insist on at least 80% quant. It's pretty disturbing that even a raw score of 48 doesn't cut it anymore. Blame the chinese and indians, i guess.

I took the GMAT last year and got a 710, but my 47Q went from 77% to 73%. While I was just below the 80% when I took the exam I'm worried that my quant percentile will be in the 60s when I apply for MBA programs in a couple years. Is the decreasing quant percentile worth a retake or does the "check the box" with a 700+ mentality still hold true?
it is absolutely depressing to read about people thinking about retaking a 740. a few years ago this would have been considered a very funny troll post.
I personally cant even break the 700 mark no matter how hard I try, time for me to hang up the towel soon.
