Retake GMAT? - Looking to get an MSF
Looking to go for an MSF. What schools do I have a shot at with this background or should I retake and apply at a later round.
GMAT: 610
GPA; 3.8
Non-Target Finance/Econ
2 Year Relavent Internship
8 Month FT Analyst at PWM
...TIA
yeah definitely. Buy the manhattan gmat study guides and do lots of practice problems.
Definitely retake. You can actually have a pretty decent shot at top schools if you can raise that score to the 700's.
700+ will put you in a competetive position for the "Tier 1" msf schools, so definitely retake. Something like 720 would pretty much guarantee you acceptance into top schools. And don't even say 'non-target.' Msf programs really don't care as much as MBA. (And with your stats, you would be competetive for some really good bschools.)
Jesus how non target was your school that you can get a 3.8 in finance/ econ, and only pull a 610. Also what the hell is a FT analyst at PwC. Consulting? Transactions Services?
@FutureBanker09 Big Ten non-target, and I really dicked around studying for it. Also meant to say FT Analyst at PWM, not PWC, sorry about the confusion.
Big 10 schools must be a real joke.
Yeah, take the GMAT more seriously and break 700+. MSF obviously cares more about quant than verba, so try to get 49+.
