Return offer unexpectedly voided. What now?
TLDR - boss got fired, return offer gone, what are my best options?
Background: I am a senior expected to graduate at the end of may from McGill University. Last summer, I did an internship at a major pension fund here in Canada, and did extremely well in my role. However, due to the low turnover of pension funds, the internship program doesn't directly convert into full time, and those that did get ft were given by their team in the firm of a verbal agreement (1 in 30 usually). I got along well with my team & others in the firm, but it was that I worked especially well with my direct boss that got my offer.
I learned today that my boss just got fired, which means that my "offer" is essentially voided. Since I spent 95% of the time only working with him & the niche & technical aspects of the project I worked on (big data quant trading models), the others in my team & the people I've networked with don't fully understand what we were doing. This has proven difficult to pitch my case to them when reaching out to them about open positions in their department.

I am 3 months away from graduation, and currently have nothing on the table. I also have previous work experience interning at an event-driven hedge fund (I won't return for other reasons), business development at a startup, and door to door sales. I also have a 3.4 GPA in a rigorous program (joint honors with minor in computer science) and work part time as a DJ to pay for tuition & cost of living. I am open to moving to any other major city in Canada & US. I am also open to doing another internship if it will lead to full time. I am already planning to network & apply my heart out until graduation for an FO position.
What can I do at this point that will yield me something that wouldn't render my last 4 years a waste of time & energy? Thank you.
