Rick Perry's Transcripts are released. Now it is your turn Obama

http://www.scribd.com/doc/61684192/Rick-Perry-s-T…

So Perry's transcripts are out. Pretty horrible without a doubt. This is being used by the left to basically slam the guy. Isn't it a bit hypocritical though? Obama's records are locked down air tight. For all we know he was a so so student himself.

Also, I find it interesting how Perry is being raked over the coals for his poor academic pedigree, yet the vast majority of Americans don't have a bachelors degree, let along one from a top school with a 4.0 GPA.

Should we be throwing stones at this guy when most people are even dumber? Also, since when did an Ivy League education become the de facto requirement to be President? One of our greatest Presidents, Reagan, went to some tiny school no one would know of if he didn't attend.

Meanwhile world class education guru Obama is flailing around looking for anything to grasp on.

Reagan was a god.

It makes me sad to think we may never see someone like him again =\

You're born, you take shit. You get out in the world, you take more shit. You climb a little higher, you take less shit. Till one day you're up in the rarefied atmosphere and you've forgotten what shit even looks like. Welcome to the layer cake, son.

Who cares? And I mean that in the sincerest way possible.

"For I am a sinner in the hands of an angry God. Bloody Mary full of vodka, blessed are you among cocktails. Pray for me now and at the hour of my death, which I hope is soon. Amen."

I personally don't care about college transcripts. Yet it seems to be a news worthy event and fodder for damaging the man. Romney is going to get the nomination, but using Perry's transcripts against him seems hypocritical since Obama refuses to release his.

Fair enough. I honestly hadn't even seen that he released them. I don't think anyone should need to release them and if they do, that is their (hopefully) calculated choice.

Obama himself never criticized Perry on the basis of his transcript. Obama grew up from an above average background at best so the fact that he got into Columbia and Harvard need proper recognition. And yes it's got nothing relevant to his job right now. Finally, even the POTUS needs some privacy c'mon does the guy have to publicize how many hairs up his ass. Rick Perry's academic cred is just horrible for a leader of the world's leading nation. Romney got creds but I tend to strongly object flip-flopper.

Sorry if this is gonna stir up a debate. I'm gonna close this account now, WSO ain't the place to have a thoughtful discussion.

Yes it is.

However, the majority of people here work / want to work in finance, and there's a heavy conservative bias [generally speaking]. You're free to say whatever you want, but also realize that the majority of people here are being demonized for having a job in a particular industry and are unlikely to be sympathetic to leftist views ESPECIALLY with protesters a few blocks over demonizing us.....so if you can't get over that, then yeah, you're in the wrong forum.

...don't apologize for something you're deliberately doing, do you even work in this industry? If you want a debate, fine, but don't think that coming to a site called WALL STREET OASIS and criticizing them is going to get accolades.

Also: your avatar paints our type as the compliment to yours within this system called America.....we're a necesssary part, and some of us are actually pretty cool people if you're not stirring the pot and looking for a fight.

My point is two fold.

1) It doesn't matter and should not need to be released

and

2) If Democrats (not Obama himself) are going to use Perry's transcripts as a weapon against him, their President who had overwhelming Democrat support, should at least reveal his. He doesn't have to and I don't want him to, but people who support him shouldn't attack someone else who actually did reveal their transcripts.

HFFBALLfan123:
If anyone actually saw the debate, Rick Perry seems like a complete fucking idiot, I was a big Bush fan and although he wasnt the best speaker he was actually an intelligent person... Perry is not.

I agree with this. Bush's intelligence was grossly underestimated due to his speech and texas demeanor. Perry, on the other hand, is an idiot.

Huntsman or Romney is the gop's only hope of defeating Obama.

I don't remember hearing anything from Obama about Perry's grades. If I had to take a guess, Obama probably wasn't all that much better.

College GPA is a terrible predictor of future success anyway. It's only a point of contention here because banks are obsessed with it for recruiting. A high GPA only displays an ability to conform to professor's expectations as they typically have defined in their syllabus.

I can't criticize Perry for his transcripts. We have enough Ivy league summa grads in DC to sink a ship, but most still can't make good decisions.

I mean, Reagan graduated from Eureka college (gasp! a non-target!). We are not hiring a president to design policy himself, but rather solicit opinions of the relevant experts. There is a reason why the BenBernanke is in the Fed and and not the White House.

I don't know, I think this site is evenly split conservative and liberal. Don't forget that Wall Street was the single largest contributor to Obama and Obama received more Wall Street money than any other President.

+1

I'm of the opinion that the majority are somewhere in between the polarities. The conservative / liberal framework of thought are a good starting point, but I personally don't like a political party, individual, or ideology dictating my thoughts.

I completely disagree. The constituency here reminds me a bit of the WSJ comments section.

Trust me, as someone who has been around for a while, there are plenty of liberals or left leaning individuals. Some have come and gone, some post less frequently. Some only come out on certain issues. But there are a lot.

While maybe that is true, the number of actual posts leans heavily to the right, thus many threads are dominated by right leaning opinions. Not a complaint, just an observation.

Thanks. I try my best.

Made a funny observation yesterday...in the Most Active Monkeys block I've moved up to 2nd place because I have 5 interns helping me create a WSO Company Database (posting under my username)...who is still ahead of me?

I think if you take ANT out, it would be much more balanced... dude, you're closing in on 10,000 bananas...insane and awesome.

:-)

If you want to check out our progess so far: //www.wallstreetoasis.com/wso-company-database -- this will hopefully limit the CapIQ threads asking, "can you tell me all regional boutiques in city X?"

Hahah. Yeah, I rant a lot. I got some down time so my posting has ramped up. But yeah, minus me and it is pretty balanced. Like I said, many liberal leaning members only come out for certain topics and many don't post much anymore.

HFFBALLfan123:
How the fuck do you get a B in Phys Ed... wow.

He did get an A in Improvement in Learning...apparently, it's not very well-deserved when reviewing the rest of the transcript.

BTW, I thought these things were private and protected under federal law. How did it get leaked?
