"Rising Junior" at a non-target - advice on my chances?

I have just barely began starting the networking process for SA 2018 roles, I have about a 60 person list of people that have come from non-targets/in my fraternity. I plan on sending emails starting tomorrow to as many of these people as I can. I am hoping to create a list of around 200 people or so and I'm hoping to get around 15-20 emails back to schedule phone interviews. If this goes well I am planning to fly out to NYC for a week before school starts in August for coffee. I am also looking at getting a Fall IB Analyst position in hopes of showing my determination to break into banking.

With all of this being said, is my plan of action (as long as I follow through with it) and resume good enough to have a shot at breaking into IB? I am okay with people being honest/brutal I am just trying to hear some honest opinions and get some feedback.

Thanks in advance.

You're late, but yes, it's possible.

Your GPA is low and many banks cut off at 3.2/3.5 for a resume drop, but with proper networking it is indeed possible for someone to push your resume through. Reach out to as many people as you can and focus on making your life for the next few months entirely about this process. If you do it properly, with a bit of luck you'll do fine.

Keep in mind: You are competing with kids from top-tier target schools with near perfect GPAs, connections out their ass, and who's first word as a baby was "Goldman." Be realistic, work hard at this, and cast a wide net. Good luck.
