Risk Management Career
Hi All,
I'm a recent MBA graduate from a well-recognised non-UK b-school (though not top-10) and currently working in London as a program manager in an IT consulting firm [which bores me to death].
I am 31 years old so can't quite get into the entry-level roles but my interest is in risk management (credit and/or market). I'm wondering what would be the right way to get into those kind of roles.
I'm currently preparing for PRM exams and targeting to take all exams by December 2013. I'm going to work toward CFA exams in the coming years.
Would appreciate your inputs on what certifications etc I should do or how else I can make the move.
Cheers
Nieter

Risk Management is a fairly wide arena. I would search Risk Management first, and know what type of RM you are trying to be involved with. There are dozens of Risk Management societies (some that offer random certifications as well). Ferret out those sites and you may find more inroads. Search these societies/associations AGRIP, RIMS,FIRMA and maybe go to riskcentral dot com
A lot of those associations sites have open job boards, which can lead you to companies closely affiliated with that Risk association, or at least more interested in finding a good risk candidate than companies that post to generalist job boards.
