I’m guessing you are talking about the experienced contracts and not new hires right? The new hire ones are pretty well known (citadel, hrt, 2 sigma in HF space and then you have the Facebook/google/Netflix offers in tech, etc while the IB contracts are pretty standard). It also depends on what you think “high paying” is (guessing you aren’t talking about the $100mm payouts, although those are mostly through pnl sharing)

In the experienced space you have pretty standard contracts in IB until you get to VP but really it gets less standard in the higher roles (MD) with equity/profit sharing. Less standard across the HF space, and in tech less crazy upside.

With all of the ones I’ve seen the base is relatively low (400-600k) and the large components are bonus (7 figures) and equity/profit sharing (7 figures). I haven’t seen any eight figure stuff (definitely know people in the 8-9 figure camp just haven’t actually seen the pay structures). Maybe not quite the “super high paying” you are looking for.

This is helpful but I guess what I meant is I’ve heard stories like Andy hall getting a payout of $100m and Tom Hayes (from “The Spidernetwork”)being offered a $4.5 m + 10% of his profits from Goldman. Was just wondering if any have heard of any people who got similar contracts in the IB space or any for that matter.

For the most part all of those high payouts will be a % of pnl (either as a payout of pnl or through large equity stakes in a fund). Not sure how many details you’ll get outside of that, those will vary by individual at that level (and payouts based on equity isn’t that interesting as it can be acquired over time). You’ll usually see high signing bonus to convince someone to join (I’ve seen in the few million, usually to compensate for income/equity you’ll lose in your current role) and the other high payouts will be as % of pnl. Unfortunately that’s about as specific as I think I can be.
