Rothschild (London) or JP Morgan (London)

I have received two offers for a full-time position in London.

What are the pros and cons? Compensation, culture, exit opportunities?

Thanks!

I work at one of the two in London.

This decision is up to you and the type of transactions you want to complete. You must have looked at this when you interviewed.

Rothschild obviously dip much lower into MM compared to JPM. Does that interest you?

JPM your role depends on group placement, whilst Rothschild will be fairly similar between different groups. Do you u have visibility on that? What products are you interested in?

If you are European as username suggests, I would also consider franchise strength in to it home may in if you ever wished to go back

JPM is better than RS in pretty much every scenario. Take JPM if you have any "normal" group (TMT, DI, Healthcare, C&R etc.). Only worth taking RS if you have one of their top groups (HC mainly) and your JPM group is not that good (Nordic M&A) or very specialised (RE/FIG/O&G).

For exits: JPM comfortably because most funds are American and JPM London has great exits. Rothschild has good exits too but often will be cranking on ~$100m deals which isn’t good for resume or development.

Culture: JPM has an American culture in a good way but you’ll probably work harder at JPM than at Rothschild (unless HC or Consumer)

Bigger bonus / relo at JP too
