Rounding GPA
Do you think one can get away with rounding a 3.41-3.42 gpa to a 3.5? A Mergers and Inquisitions article says it is fine.... , but the CFI says it is not, https://www.mergersandinquisitions.com/faq/

you can definitely not get away with this - 3.45 is the lowest that can go to a 3.5, either keep your GPA or round down to 3.4
M&I guidance is from when BG checks were not strict, things have changed and you will get your offer pulled at BB/EB for this kind of "rounding"
Not sure if I agree with you here. I wouldn’t do it but I don’t think you’d get your offer pulled
It isn't about agreeing or disagreeing - it happened to a kid I know at a BB, this is part of the reason for background checks. The MM I'm going to doesn't verify GPA for summer interns so you could get away with it here.
Since you can round the 3.4 to 3.5, lucky for you that rounds to 4.0. Congrats on the perfect GPA!
.
3.77 here and I am happy to say I've earned my 3.8
lol no one cares if u round up when it's 1 decimal place. enjoy your high horse tho
This guy gets it. I’m 5’11 and I don’t round up to 6’ on Tinder. I even keep it at 5 ft. If you say you’re 6 ft to match with a girl from HR and she whips out the measuring tape on the first date, it’s game over. You’re blackballed across the Street
It's not about some philosophical concept of "earning", it's about math. 0.05 rounds up to 0.1. anything less rounds down. There are no brownie points for handicapping yourself or not understanding math, just keep within the bounds of reason (you can't round 3.5 to 4) and the literal bounds of accuracy. Give them your GPA to the level of specificity they ask (e.g., 3.45 rounds to 3.5, but not to 3.50).
