RX interview - Unconventional background, how to make the most of this?

First time poster here but have lurked for a bit.

I am 2-3 years out of Uni and am currently working at a leasing company in a corp fin role, was recently informed that I would be laid off (awful situation but not surprising given the company's aviation exposure is getting fucked dry by CV19). Somewhat fortunately, as it happens one of the senior guys in the team has contacts with an MD in a RX group (Think PJT/LAZ/HLHZ/EVR/MOE/PWP), one thing led to another, so it seems I will be interviewing for a FT analyst role at one of these places (non-US region).

Have been looking over the materials recommended here to prep for RX technicals (HLHZ case study, The Art of Distressed M&A) as well as the usual IB interview stuff, but what sorts of specific concerns would I need to address given my background? (My resume would not have made the cut if I hypothetically recruited in UG) Would it be useful to reach out to some school alumni in the firm to further network? This pandemic took a shit on my existing career plans so any advice from you guys to make the most out of this would be deeply appreciated, thanks.
