SA Resume Review - Feedback for resume

Hey all,

Looking on some feedback for my resume. I'm going into 3rd year and hoping to land an SA position in the front office of an investment bank.

Resume: http://i38.tinypic.com/3580xw8.jpg

Any and all feedback is appreciated.

Don't have a universal solution, you might try to search for a more obscure, less mainstream file host. I know web-filtering services differ by bank, and different hosts might slip through the filtering cracks.

my last employer had extremely effective web-filtering and had photobucket, flikr, etc. all blocked... my current employer has lots of cracks in its system - can access photobucket, imageshack, maybe some others... majority are still blocked though

Ok... I'm at home now and I can see it. It's pretty bad, but will let someone else take the reigns on this one. Seems like you need a complete overhaul. I've had 6 hrs of sleep in the past 3 days, so I'm not up for the challenge. If no responses by tomorrow morning, I'll give it a go.

weaksauce... cant imagine this getting too many BB interviews

"Education" section is always put at the top from my understanding. also if your campus leadership is limited to a minor role in one "Random club" youre better off putting your high school work experinece at mcdonalds i think

Yea Chop... you are in some serious trouble with this... you need to do some serious overhauling, talk to a career counselor... get higher than a B+ average as a freshman... sorry to be harsh but its ridiculously hard to even get in the door these days. This resume will absolutely not get you an interview, lots of work to be done.

I obviously can't change the past, so I'm stuck with my current grades and experience. I'm more looking for tips on improving my chances of getting into an interview.

miker2800: Thanks for the tip. I will definitely add some numbers to try to quantify some of my accomplishments. I just feel like it's overexaggerating sometimes when I throw in numbers but I suppose it'll be necessary to standout amoung the many Ivy leaguers.

Convenience Software: Thanks for taking the time to respond. I can't go back and change my marks (and I'm actually going into Junior year) so I can't lift my GPA right now. I realize I'm not a top candidate on paper and am not pretending to be, I'm just simply trying to break into IB. Do you have any specific or even general suggestions on improving my resume?

Take what you will from this;

I go to your school and I can say that it is very doubtful that resume will get you interviews.

1) I take you will be applying internships using the school career services, so make sure you take off the B+ as alumni will looking at your resume. 9.0+ = B+.

2) Maybe you should state your Major GPA if it is higher, though if you are entering third year, you have only taken 6 courses that contribute to that GPA.

3) The coursework as someone else mentioned is not clear. Solver was apart of one course for a brief time. You have already taken two accounting classes, so you can put those. Though most banks know as a BBA student you will have taken accounting.

4) Find more bullets for your financial analyst job, maybe something to stand out. Somehow you improved something.

5) If you are serious about getting into IBD, I would focus more this term on joining clubs and trying to show leadership anyway. As well I would recommend you get on "ASK" today, and start contacting all the alums if you haven't already. Networking is your main bet, our alumni love our school and try to help out undergrads as much as they can. I can tell in my experience most banks don't even interview anyone with less than 10.0+, this is the harsh reality you have to overcome, so use your time joining clubs and networking.
