SAB Miller board approves AB InBev's offer
"SABMiller Plc’s board unanimously backed Anheuser-Busch InBev SA’s improved $104 billion takeover offer, paving the way for the biggest acquisition yet in the beer industry and capping a tumultuous week in which AB InBev bowed to pressure to sweeten its offer."
Additionally, the groups two biggest shareholders, which are Altria Group Inc. and Bevco Ltd. are being treated as a separate class of stockholders. The cash bid was raised one more pound a share (44 to 45) on July 26th. Many factors have affected the valuation such as Brexit, and the re-rating of comparable companies.
"Part of the approval process includes a complex set of divestments around the globe. Molson Coors is set to acquire SABMiller’s stake in the MillerCoors brewing venture, while Japan’s Asahi Group Holdings Ltd. has agreed to buy the Peroni and Grolsch brands in Europe"
