Sabal Capital
Any opinions on them as a lender? from a borrower perspective or from an employee perspective.
They seem like Ready Cap to me, a middle market lender that has three distinct loan programs- small balance agency, fixed rate cmbs alternative and bridge. Any feedback on them?

They’re just OK. Not a major player by any means. I’ve seen a lot of people use them as a stepping stone into CRE and then jump to a better firm after 1-2yrs.
They are very similar to Ready Cap and Red Capital except they function a bit heavier on the marketing and sales side. They run on a broker network and are pretty streamlined.
Their CMBS program is new so I'm unsure about its effectiveness at the moment.
With their CMBS program, it's unlikely they will have their own shelf right?
Can you clarify what you mean by a broker network? Thank you.
bump, any new insights on pay, culture, their platform etc?
Pay and platform will be along the likes of Ready Cap, Lument (formerly Hunt & Red), Basis, etc.
Culture is entirely firm/team dependent but I'd bet all these types of firms pay within the same realm.
I am in the banking world where there is substantial base pay. Does Sabal and the non bank lender names you mentioned offer a base pay as well or is it all mostly commissions for production oriented roles?
No longer a CMBS program I believe with Rob Restrick gone. Now they have full Freddie and Fannie licenses however.
