Sagent Advisors vs Eldridge Industries (30b AUM)
End goal has always been PE. Is it worth skipping IB for a firm like Eldridge? They are fairly new but they are growing and have good senior guys. Also Eldridge mentioned that there is no cap on the program. So promotion to associate is possible. I always thought I should do IB --> PE but my best option right now is Sagent and I'm afraid I wont end up at a firm like Eldridge after my 2 yr stint. Any advice? I may be wrong about Sagent, I honestly just don't know much about the firm. Thanks.
Sil would appreciate your insight on this.
southern_beta, I wish I could offer some help, but I don't think I'm qualified to give any advice. I did not work at Sagent and am not familiar with Eldridge at all. If Eldridge is indeed a fairly new PE shop, I might lean towards Sagent given Sagent's established analyst training program. But, again, I really am not entirely sure, so I would rather not mislead you.
if it's really $30B AUM, then it's borderline MF or definitely upper MM PE. This is what people look at in terms of exit ops for sure. Talk to more people at the firm but if you're interested in the investments this firm does, would be going straight to an exit op for most people.
