Sales and Trading vs Capital Markets vs BD?
Currently an analyst in S&T (sales side), and I like the job, but I'm thinking that exit opps will be limited. I don't really want to be doing this job for the rest of my life and am thinking long term. Which one would provide the most flexibility in terms of exit opps? I also don't want to work IB hours.
Sales at BB, Capital Markets at Top BB, Business Development at one of the world's top 5 HF
BD at HF, Cap Markets, & the Sales at BB... I used to be in Sales at a BB. I got out and am in a great role now, but I feel like I was a lucky one. So many of my former colleagues are stuck with very few options.
Do you mind expanding on the role you transitioned into? And at what level did you exit from S&T?
Private placements/pre-ipo brokerage. It’s like a mixture of ecm, equity sales, and sales trading. Transitioned out as VP1.
