Sales vs Trading Analyst for Illiquid Products

Hey all! I will soon be completing my 1 year rotational program in S&T and have realized that I'm into complex, illiquid products especially in equity derivatives. In the long run, I want to be in a sales role but I wasn't sure if it would be more beneficial to start my career as a sales or trader. As a sales, I can do what ultimately I want to do later on. As a trader, I can gain some of the fundamental analysis and risk management skills. Does it matter which one I choose for my analyst years? Thanks!
