2018 SF Housing
Monkeys -
I have looked through pages on this site but all of the SF housing seems to be dated by a couple years and I wanted to know everyones impression of where to live.
From what I have gathered, Marina District, Cow Valley and Pacific Heights is good for young professionals and to absolutely avoid tenderloin. (I am a young professional male fyi)
If any of you guys have advice on where to live and where to look online considering I will be coming from out of state I would appreciate it. Also, looking for recommendations on where to find roommates as I believe there was one facebook page mentioned on this site but I can not find that thread.
Thanks guys
There is an expert on here. He knows about interviewing associates and SF housing.
I think his name is Sean Astin or Shawn Mullins or something similar. If you find him, he will have all the answers.
Shaun Mullins LMAO
Depends on your budget and expectations. Expect to pay a lot to live in a closet in a nice part of town. Expect to pay a lot to live in a walk-in closet in a not so nice part of town.
Search on craigslist as that is usually the best place, but you need to check multiple times a day as good places get snatched up within hours of being posted.
The FB group your looking for is called "Friends looking for SF Housing! -Anjou" I think there may be another one, but this group in particular is the one I am apart of.
Good luck.
Thank you I appreciate the help.
I'm going to be in SF this summer for a 9-week IB internship (Jun. - Aug.). If anyone wants an additional roommate, let me know!
What area are you working in thegreen ?
I will be working in the Financial District and looking for a couple people to be potential roommates for a May 1 start date. sfrelograd

I recently moved out to the Bay Area for work, and am looking for roommates to live in SoMa /Mission Bay Area (ideally in building near CalTrain since will be commuting down to Palo Alto for work).
A little about myself - from Long Island, NY, went to school in Boston then spent last few years working in finance in IB in NYC. Transitioned to PE last summer and now moving out here with my PE Firm to work in our Palo Alto Office. Big sports fan and like going out on the weekends to restaurants / bars, etc. Ideally looking for June 1st move in but am flexible.
Let me know if anyone knows anyone looking for housing in the area. Thanks in advance.
Hey jman28, I swear if I had a silver banana for every lonely thread I posted too I'd be richer than @compbanker ...

If those topics were completely useless, don't blame me, blame my programmers...
Hey man - Would you be open to living in the Palo Alto area? I'm starting at a PE firm there as well in August (but could move-in earlier). Feel free to PM me.

PM me if you're still interested.
NA
It's super early to be looking for housing in SF. The market is really competitive (people constantly moving in/out of the area) so you realistically need to start looking for June housing in May/April because they look for those who can immediately move in. Went through all this when I moved to SF...it's a nightmare. Amazing area though
PM if still interested
PM me! Or for that matter, if anyone who commented on this is interested...
PM me if anyone's looking for a mid july move in. Moving to SF for IB Full-time.
Looking for housing as well!! Anyone still need roommates?
PM me if you are looking for a June move-in until August. I am interning in SF.
I'm also looking for a roommate to start lease on 8/1. Incoming IBD Associate here; looking to live near Embarcadero. PM me if interested!

Hi all, incoming SA here who will be working in SF this summer. Was curious to know as to what the best practices were regarding finding summer housing in the city (FiDi, SoMa etc). Would be great to hear from past SA's as well as fellow incoming SA's - thank y'all very much!
bump. in the same position currently
I’m also an SF summer analyst. I used sfhousingservices.com. They have shared dormitory style rooms close to FiDi for reasonable prices with short term leases.

I am moving to San Francisco in July to start FT at an IB and am looking for potential roommates who would want to live close to the Financial District.
I am a male in early ~20s. I will be working banking. I don't know many people in the area, so the ideal situation would be having roommates who are also young professionals and down to have fun in free time.
PM or post if you are also looking for housing
Hey sfrelograd, what a lonely thread. I'm here since nobody responded ...so maybe one of these discussions will help:

I hope those threads give you a bit more insight.
