Schools I've applied to Transfer to, what do you guys know?
Hey guys, I've applied at Texas, Texas A&M, Baylor, and West Virginia University. I am interested in prop. or energy trading, however, I am not against other kinds of trading, those just happen to be the ones I'm particularly interested in. I'm a finance major by the way. Which university (generally) has the most OCR from firms or would best position me to get into a trader role. I know this is kind of relative considering all are non-targets, but I figured I could get some input, thanks guys.
UT and it's not even close. A&M would be my second choice and Baylor 3rd.
UT is a semi-target, and is by far your best choice amongst those given. If you restrict your focus to energy, one could argue it's actually a top target school.
UT is a better school for overall energy finance (corp. banking, corp. finance, IBD). However, Texas A&M does have a trading program where you are guaranteed 1-2 internships (most likely in trading, but you might also get energy consulting/finance).
